HOGWARTS CASTLE ANIMALS
(Shawn Etter) Up to this point, I have only been talking about the various animals that are available for purchase using the in-game currency (the different colored books). From this point on, I will no longer be talking about the various creatures in the Magical Creature Reserve. But instead, I will be talking about the various animals that roam Hogwarts Castle themselves and why having as many of these animals as possible, will only further aid you throughout the years at Hogwarts.
There are four main differences between. The creature in the reserve, and there various animals in Hogwarts. The first difference, and probably the least important, is that the creature in the reserve are reserved to exotic creatures that one may have never heard of, let alone seen in person. The animals in Hogwarts are considered by most to be much more traditional animals: such as an owl, cat, mouse, and a toad.
The second main difference is that the animals in Hogwarts don’t need to be bonded with or fed before they like and accept you.
The third difference is that the animals in Hogwarts will each give you an extra point of energy. Now, if your energy bar is full and you happen to click on one of the various spots throughout Hogwarts that resort in giving you a piece of energy, that piece will not be added to your overall status bar and will just be wasted. However, it doesn’t mater how much energy you have, when you click on these animals you own when they’re glowing blue, the point of energy WILL be added onto your total, even if the total is already full.
The fourth and final difference between the animals in Hogwarts and the creature at the Reserve, is that the creatures at the reserve can only be adopted by using the special notebooks you receive throughout the game for various things. The animals in Hogwarts can all be purchased with gems. Once you’ve purchased an animal, a variety of difference colors will appear that you can make the bird look like. However, these extras can cost notebooks (usually the brown ones) but some can also cost more gems or even coins. Be warned, if you’re going to want to wait to spend coins on these extras for the animals, be prepared to fork over much bigger coin amounts. For instance, one of the extras did the owl alone costs 10,000 coins. Remember, the extras for these animals will also add to either your Courage, Empathy, and Knowledge – depending on which one of those symbols is present when buying the extra for your animal. And just like when buying clothing, you can see how many points will be added if you purchase that extra.
As I stated above, the four animals that can be purchased with gems and that are currently available are: the cat, owl, mouse, and toad.
Now there are five others animals as well that can be added but these all cost brown notebooks. Two of them are currently 50 brown notebooks, one is 60, and one is 80. There is a fifth animal (looks like a tarantula or some sort), however, it’s currently not available for purchase.
Last but not least, one cool thing about the animals in Hogwarts is that they all conjugate in the dormitory of whatever house you’re in. You can find the dormitory on the floor labeled “Dungeon,” right after Professor Snape’s classroom. This way, you can enter and add each piece of energy at one time. You can also carry one of the Hogwarts animals on your arm – this can be changed and customized in the same place where you’re able to change your outfit.

✶ (Bennett) The dormitory locations vary depending on house: Gryffindor and Ravenclaw are in the West Towers, Slytherin and Hufflepuff are in the Dungeons.
The cost of adoption and energy recharge time varies depending on the animal.
